We support young athletes: Erik Jelinek promising, young athletics star
For several years, our company has been actively supporting not only leisure activities of its
employees, but also successful young sportsmen.
We realize the importance of such activities in shaping the personality of a young person.
We focus on supporting individuals as well as on supporting sports clubs that educate
children and young people to the same values we are committed to: professionalism,
respect, persistence.
The funds they receive from our company will help them not only in preparation and sports
development, but they also give them a significant edge in challenging competition.
This month, Suntel has supported a young successful athlete – Erik Jelinek.
Erik is a former charge of Slovácká Slávia Uherské Hradiště and he started doing athletics at
the age of eight.
The subtle pupil, initially with average performance, nobody did not know about him until
his second youth season in 2015, when he occupied the 2nd place in 110 metres Hurdles
and 3000 Meters hurdles Czech Republic Championship.
He started achieving similar results in the junior category.
Erik's performances did not go unnoticed by AK Olomouc and in 2017 he already tasted an
extraleague premiere as a junior in the Olomouc jersey and regularly ran both short and long
obstacles as well as 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
In 2018, he transferred to AK Olomouc and at the Czech republic Championship men under-
22 took 3rd place at 400 metres Hurdles and 4th place at at 110 metres Hurdles.
After a successful national performance in 2019, the transfer to PSK Olymp Praha followed.
This March was of crucial importance for Erik's next athletic career.
After agreement with coaches he has started to orient himself exclusively to 400m Hurdles.
In June he pleasantly surprised again with the second place at the U22 Czech Championship.
Erik unexpectedly made everyone even more happy 14 days later, only after 3 months of
specialization, by meeting the limit of the Czech Athletic Association authorizing him to participate in
the European Championship under-22 in Gavle, Sweden.
We wish Erik good health, a lot of sporting happiness, success in his future career and and fulfillment
of all his dreams.
